Job Description

Blocktech MEP are looking on behalf of their client for a Quantity Surveyor with MEP experience to join them on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will need a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the Engineering and Construction Industry. They would also need to evidence stability and commitment by spending a number of years supporting one particular business, be able to supply references from previous roles.

This role will be to provide commercial support to their Engineering Department. You will need to evidence Building/Construction, Project and Maintenance knowledge within MEP across all aspects of Quantity Surveying.

  • Experienced ideally in both R&M and Project type works
  • Working on Schedule of Rates
  • Measure/valuing works on site to NRM
  • Preparing Quotations
  • Contract knowledge in JCT/NEC/NSR would be useful
  • Strength in focusing on prioritising and asking when additional support is requiring
  • Team player, approachable and ability to communicate, working under pressure
  • Support and work hand in hand with Operational Manager
  • Support and work with operational team
  • Guide and provide support to commercial administrator/administration team
  • Client facing, ability to lead and co-ordinate meetings
  • Excel/data analysis ability
  • Drive and assist with implementing commercial processes, procedures and governance, and ensuring this is maintained Monthly CVR’s;
  • Escalate where appropriate Subcontractors;
  • Issuing SC Orders/packages – utilising and implementing our standard terms and templates
  • Reviewing where applicable monthly claims/challenging
  • Dispute resolution where applicable
  • Reviewing and preparing where applicable monthly applications
  • Ensuring PN received/payments are in line with Applications/entitlements.
  • Costs control/forecast
